Laurie Williams, based in New Zealand’s Paraoanui Valley, has been a leading luthier since 1993, specializing in indigenous woods. His dedication to using native timbers, from sourcing to crafting, reflects a deep commitment to quality and innovation in guitar-making. Each instrument, including the Tui, is individually handcrafted, showcasing Williams’ expertise and the distinctive characteristics of the materials he uses. The Tui also features custom details such as abalone inlays and a carbon fiber case, highlighting both its craftsmanship and the unique story behind its creation.

This 2013-built Laurie Williams Tui is a masterful blend of traditional craftsmanship and unique tonewoods, resulting in an exceptional acoustic experience. Featuring a top crafted from Waingarara Kauri, a prized and exceptionally rare New Zealand wood renowned for its rich tap tone, this guitar delivers a resonant, vibrant sound. The back and sides are made from Tasmanian Blackwood, chosen for its warm, balanced tone. Meticulously selected trims include Wodjil, a desert acacia, and Red Morrel Burl, both adding distinctive aesthetic and tonal qualities. The five-piece neck, made of Totara and Macassar Ebony, complements the ebony fretboard and bone nut and saddle, contributing to the guitar's clarity and sustain. It's in stunning condition, with barely any playwear whatsoever and a slinky, fast and buzz-free action that suits any playing style. Includes Hoffee hardshell case.
