Barry Kerr has been building guitars since 1984. Over the last 3 decades, he has refined many of the traditional construction methods to produce an instrument that is beautiful and durable with great tone and volume. Specialising in archtop and OM-sized guitars, his forward-thinking designs and incorporation of carbon-fibre and composite bracing have yielded some phenomenal-sounding guitars, built right in our backyard. Sadly Barry no longer takes commissions for his work, making this guitar all the more special.
Part of Barry's lauded Brazilan Rosewood series, this stunning OM was constructed using reclaimed old-growth Brazilian Rosewood salvaged from antiques. Featuring not only solid Brazilian Rosewood back-and-sides, but also a solid Brazilian Rosewood neck and fretboard! Designed with an active back design, the tone is otherworldly, harmonically complex and incredibly loud!
The workmanship throughout is impeccable - check out the tasteful pinstriping on the back of the body, neck and headstock, and the playability is superb. It's superbly responsive, and responds beautifully to the lightest touch. Fingerstyle players will love it's detailed, nuanced tone with explosive harmonics and natural compression, and strummers will be blown away by it's sheer power. A wonderful example by one of Australia's finest luthiers.

I’ve had a Barry Kerr dread for 35 years, still destroying my Gibsons and Martins with its tone, and his guitars have got better and better.
