Established in 2018, Iris Guitars combine modern techniques with vintage-inspired aesthetics to create exceptional instruments. Founded by luthier Adam Buchwald, Iris Guitars offers high-quality, handmade guitars designed for everyday musicians. With models drawing inspiration from Depression-era and mid-century designs, each guitar features high-quality all-solid tonewoods, hand-made craftsmanship and stunning build quality, at a price point usually reserved for factory-built guitars.

The Iris DF Acoustic Guitar pays homage to co-founder Dale Fairbanks with its slope-shouldered dreadnought design reminiscent of a late 1940s J-45. Crafted with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides, this guitar offers a warm, open tone with balanced trebles and the classic slope-shoulder thump. The small rectangle bridge, scalloped tonebars, and medium-length scale further contribute to its rich sound.

Visually, the DF model is adorned with a deco firestripe pickguard, ivoroid bindings, sunburst top finish, and three-on-a-plate Golden Age open geared tuners, along with the new Iris 'Flower' headstock logo. What sets this particular guitar apart is its 'Relic' finish, which features artificial yellowing and lacquer checking to emulate the appearance of a well-loved, vintage instrument. A tremendous handmade slope-shoulder with vintage vibe in spades! Includes hardshell case.

    Irresistible Iris DF

I bought this Iris DF. I wasn't looking for new guitar but it was so charming and easy and beautiful that I fell in love. It's only been a month but the honeymoon isn't over! Ive done a couple of gigs, a couple of open mics and written a couple of new songs and it's all been super fun. These guitars are superbly built and voiced and the notes jump from the strings. Super light, dry, airy. You've gotta play them. While not cheap, they are excellent value for a high end guitar. And Dan and the fellas at the Acoustic Centre were so helpful, friendly and professional as they always are.

    IRIS DF guitar

This IRIS is truly a beautiful guitar. It sounds 70 years old right out of the box but plays like the new boutique piece that it is. A keeper that is privilege to play. And, as always, fabulous service and care from the staff at the Acoustic Centre.
