Woodtone Barry Kerr OM 'Adirondack / Madagascar Rosewood' Preowned 2017

Barry Kerr has been building acoustic guitars since 1984. Over the last 3 decades, he has refined many of the traditional construction methods to produce an instrument that is beautiful and durable with great tone and volume. Specialising in OM-sized guitars, his forward-thinking designs and incorporation of carbon-fibre and composite bracing have yielded some phenomenal-sounding guitars, built right in our backyard. Sadly Barry no longer takes commissions for his work, making this guitar all the more special.

This 2017 custom-built OM is a fabulous example of Kerr's crafstmanship and attention to detail. Featuring a straight-grained Adirondack Spruce soundboard and highly-figured Madagascar Rosewood back-and-sides, it has an unusually deep and thick tone, with plenty of natural compression and sparkling harmonics. The real showstopper here is the inlay work - the headstock boasts an incredibly detailed and impressive Melbourne cafe scene, including a passing tram! Intricately crafted from pearl and abalone, it's utterly unique and really sets this guitar apart. A wonderful Australian-made OM with high-end timbers and stunning craftsmanship.
