Alvarez Masterwork MF60E Herringbone Acoustic Electric Guitar

Introducing the Alvarez Masterwork MF60E Herringbone Acoustic Electric Guitar—a meticulously crafted instrument that combines impeccable design with exceptional tonal balance. Engineered to perfection, the MF60E features an OM body shape, delivering near-perfect balance and separation across all six strings for articulate and accurate performance. With a lighter weight X-brace design, this guitar offers round notes and super-fast response while maintaining an open projection for a versatile playing experience.

Part of the Alvarez Masterworks Series, this guitar is meticulously constructed from all-solid wood, ensuring strong tonal benefits and unparalleled quality. The FS6 bracing system, with its forward-shifted, scalloped X design, enhances vibration and resonance, resulting in powerful voicing and inspiring articulation. Equipped with the LR Baggs HiFi system, the MF60E delivers exceptional balance, definition, and dynamics, whether played acoustically or plugged in.

Built with a meticulous approach to sourcing and preparation, Alvarez guitars undergo a rigorous curing process to enhance stability, strength, and tonal benefits. Advanced Tonal Response (ATR™) further enhances wood stability and resonance, resulting in a guitar that's resilient to adverse climates and delivers sophisticated, complex voicing from day one. With Alvarez's unwavering commitment to quality and innovation, the Masterwork MF60E Herringbone Acoustic Electric Guitar offers an unparalleled playing experience that's truly remarkable.

I have owned many guitars over the years mostly American made . In better times I was flipping buying and selling guitars back in the day I can honestly say my mind was blown when I recieved this that first strum gentle but digging. In still really blew me away I near shed one my throat welled up and I was off I was in love instantly the notes just sang forever the set up was good the workmanship on the guitar was amazing the woods beautiful I just could not put it down It has great volume with a great tone and pick up system in it is pretty good sounds really nice plugged into my Marshall SV20c through a Rockcrusher attenuator with just a MSR Reverb pedal and Boss rc3 looper set up in my Hiace van I live in due being without a home the last few years and it sounded amazing I felt like I was halfway home it felt good finally finding a guitar I connected with fair dinkum ear candy and easy to play being a 1970 model myself it's good finding a guitar that is easy on the hands as mine are scarred and beaten up from years of hard yakka in the building trade I have been buying cheaper Martin's the Dx series I think and Taylor gs mini in Koa thought the mini gs be good for living in the van it was ok sort of to be honest it is junk compared to the Alvarez this guitar is the most beautiful thing I ever held in guitar land I'm self taught in later life and after falling off a roof a decade ago and unable to work or pursue hobbies due injury or income last few years I've saved my meager pension and got back doing the things that keep me going like photography and playing guitar and this really surprised me how good some guitars coming out of China Asia etc have become I sold a Tasman Ta100 to get the gs mini and was left with a bad taste in my mouth I can see 1 side of the world is striving toward being better than the old guard being American made while 1 strives to better themselves the other it's bosses and employees are mostly waiting on the home time bell and the quality or lack of such is apparent I had so many people walking past my van saying dude you should throw ya hat out front to catch some cash busk it old boy get out and play was the cry from fellow surfers writers bums photographers and fringe dwellers that wandered by while parked up at 1 of the amazing beaches around the region I live and spend my time on my other pursuit photography and wildlife conservation and proper land management of our fragile areas Man I felt so in tune with this guitar it just blew me away felt so great full in my situation to of been able to get it thx son legend lad but the last 3 or 4 days have been the darkest days I have had and I have lived indeed It started with a pestering local getting in my face in the early dawn hours while photographing the coming of the shortest day of the year sadly it's common with photography but I went to grab my tripod and badaboom my big Nikon d810 and 14-24mm f2.8 hit the concrete of a rough boat ramp and was smashed gutted to say the least but I could sit the the time out writing and playing this Alvarez while saving for another set up but then the next day I'm kicking back in the van playing away at a beach car park and this chick pulls in parked to close to be able to open her door enough to get big bum out her words not mine but I says hang on ile open the side door so I place the guitar on the bed help her vacate her car but hear the Alvarez slide off the bed onto the floor of the van I though ouch but she be OK but nup I could not believe it but it split the mahogany proper on the side it landed on Man I was done devo could not believe it was even happening quickly strumming it to see how it was and way out of tune very fragile tuned it up gently just shattered strummed it and sadly it's knackered from such a happy high times to that kind of low man I feel so lost I'm just staring at the ground kicking rocks wanting me mum yea im a big boy but geez what's a bloke to do well all ya can do is pick your self up put on ya big boy pants and be patient and save as I'm 100% going to try get another one there that good or man it kills me to of lost 2 things I cherish so much the only things I have left that I put so much time into learning the art and getting so close with my photography it was about to start making me money I'm good at what I do there and even this guitar people was walking past going wow man that sounds real nice you throw ya hat out and play n busk I don't get that with the Taylor I did sometimes with the Tasman 1 couple told me when I played while going to sleep they would cry as they lay in bed listening was never sure what to make of that but I do go down dark roads when playing in my mind as in life Geez what a mixed up week or so but if you are on the fence or looking for a good sounding soulful acoustic for a decent price I say go for it Alvarez really has nailed it with this model and I will certainly buy the same again no problem ile just have to be careful careful with another careful that it don't slide off my bed all round killer acoustic volume tone guts n nuts and pretty as a peach sexy even dam bummed but such is life forward and onward to oblivion or bust Alvarez AAA+
