AUSTRALIA'S #1 ACOUSTIC GUITAR SPECIALIST
The Maton SRS70C Acoustic Electric Guitar, part of the Solid Road Series, is a premium dreadnought-style guitar designed for both serious performers and discerning hobbyists. With a solid "A" grade spruce top and Tasmanian blackwood back and sides, it produces a full, vibrant sound with a well-balanced tonal range. The blackwood’s bright, clear trebles and strong mids complement the deep, resonant bass, giving the SRS70C remarkable projection and clarity, ideal for any playing style, from delicate fingerpicking to robust strumming.
Equipped with a Queensland maple neck and streaky ebony fingerboard and bridge, the SRS70C offers smooth playability and long-lasting durability. The guitar features Maton’s signature scalloped X bracing, which enhances the tonal resonance and improves the guitar's dynamic range. Its natural satin finish accentuates the beauty of the tonewoods while keeping the instrument lightweight and comfortable to play. The guitar’s distinctive sapele ring rosette, black outer binding, and tortoiseshell pickguard with the signature gold “M” logo add a touch of elegance to its professional design.
The SRS70C is fitted with Maton’s AP5-Pro pickup system, ensuring that its rich, natural acoustic tones are faithfully reproduced when plugged in. Whether performing on stage or recording in the studio, this guitar’s reliable electronics deliver a clear and dynamic amplified sound. Included with the guitar is a Maton standard hardcase, offering protection during transport. The SRS70C blends exceptional craftsmanship with superb tonal quality, making it an outstanding choice for guitarists who demand versatility, style, and performance.

I bought my Maton SRS70c about a year ago, and it continues to amaze. The playability is what grabbed me in the first place, as well as the gorgeous long sustain compared with other top-end instruments in the same price point or above it. After about 6-8 weeks it mellowed even further while still retaining its sparkling long sustain. I’ve never had cause to question any aspect of the build quality or finish at any stage - just perfect. I try out more expensive Taylors, Fenechs, even Martins from time to time just to confirm that I’m not missing out on anything, but I simply can’t justify any switch from my Maton! Brilliantly strung and quickly set up in store, no adjustments needed since. A stunning instrument.
Great - very helpful, prompt delivery and a great git. Cheers!!
Wonderful Guitar. I love playing it ad the tonal sound is awesome, both unplugged and plugged. The AP5 Pro microphone system is simply the best ever and the overall quality of finish and appearance is of the instrument is exceptional. The service, advice and assistance from the Acoustic Centre was excellent.
So I bought my S70 a year and a half ago after I’d actually gone into the shop to look at a Cole Clark. Visually, a really beautiful guitar, I love the understated style. The tone of this guitar is beautiful, either picking or strumming it’s fantastic, really warm and full. It’s playability is what really makes it stand out for me though. I’ve not played a guitar that was so easy and comfortable to play. The neck fits my hand legitimately like it was custom made there’s no other way to say it, I have played this guitar for up to eight hours a day without getting uncomfortable. Obviously, that’s pretty subjective, but that’s my experience. It’s an absolute workhorse, too, so it’s really great as a working musician. The pickups are great and I’ve never had trouble getting a nice natural sound through whatever PA I’ve been using. I really can’t say enough about this guitar. I’ve played a bunch of high end guitars (Santa Cruz, Martins, Collings’) and they’re obviously great but I never feel like I’m stepping back when I go back to my SRS70C. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
I was well overdue for a new acoustic guitar after 25 years of playing the same old trusty Maton EM400C, so I took the plunge and purchased a brand new Maton SRS70C from the Acoustic Centre. The guitar arrived today after ordering a left-handed model from the factory. Straight out of the box this guitar exceeded my expectations! It's a beautifully crafted instrument, solid blackwood back and sides, Indian rosewood fretboard and maple neck. The action is surprisingly low and very comfortable, while the sound is sweet and warm. I'm yet to plug the guitar into an amplifier but I'm confident the AP5 Pro pickup will sound great! Big thanks to Ben & Dan for the easy transaction, the great price and quick delivery!
My first guitar purchase, and I could not have asked for a better instrument. I've had this guitar for 3 years now and am incredibly happy with the sound, the feel, the look and the quality. Really appreciated the expert advice of the staff at Acoustic Centre. This guitar is brilliant - just go in and have a play and see if you can put it down!
The perfect all rounder - I use mine for all genre's of music and it holds it own every time. From mellow finger picking to hard thrashy rock it never skips a beat. Over the last 24 months it's matured and the tone has gotten even sweeter. Brilliant and versatile pickup system with the AP5pro. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new beautifully constructed and sounding Maton. I sat for hrs playing the Gibson J35, Martins, Cole Clarks and other sweet Matons but this one shone out and ended up on the counter after a tough afternoon playing guitars ;) A testament to the guys at AC, they were more than helpful and let me sit for hrs, checking in every now and then to chat and offer advice. Thanks again for the help, looking forward to making another purchase soon!
Such an amazing guitar to play, Each time I pick it up it is feels like a natural extension of my body. Folk, blues, 60s rock, the SRS70C is up for any challenge. Even makes a hack like me sound good. The AP5 pickup is fantastic too, so true to the overall tone of the guitar.

Recently purchased my Maton SRS 70c from Acoustic Centre, and love it. I tried many guitars in store, and this one just came out on top. Has an extremely well balanced, complex tone with a great deal of warmth and fatness, without being flabby, muddy or too toppy. A remarkable fit-an-finish, flawless, simple look, and feels very solid. Jed in the shop hooked me up with a great deal and talked me into into a flash case as well, also quite nice. Jed and the staff were great, very knowledgable and friendly. Thanks AC, great guitar and great service.
The superb Maton SRS70C, A perfect versatile acoustic axe for me, Light for ease of travel when it comes to the crunch, The perfect home or gigging guitar for anytime gigs, even at lunch! I play wineries, pubs and clubs, And it has a versatility I love, The ideal acoustic companion for anyone, For yourself, your wife, even your mum!
This guitar is a ripper. Sounds are warm and full on the bass end but also not too shrill on the high end; i would say well balanced indeed. I wish i had bought mine from the Acoustic Centre as i paid a lot more than the A.C. price, which is very good indeed.I would highly recommend this guitar as great value for money and a tone that is really sweet.Plugged in is Awesome, the AP5 pick up works well. Blackwood has become my favorite all time wood for backs and sides now and i think my next move might be to also obtain a Andy Allen Custom Shop Blackwood Model after hearing the terrific review A.C. did on it a little while ago..I also loved the custom shop (Blackwood) model Colin Hay uses; "sublime".
