As guitar lovers, we often find ourselves searching for instruments that resonate not only with our sound but also with a rich history. The Taylor Guitars Legacy Collection does just that, embodying over fifty years of craftsmanship and innovation. Released in very limited numbers to coincide with Taylor's 50th anniversary celebrations, this remarkable collection honours the legacy of Taylor founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug while introducing a series of stunning acoustic guitars that blend traditional design with modern technology. What makes the Legacy Collection even more special is that only the first 100 guitars built of each model will include an interior label signed by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug themselves.

The lineup includes iconic guitars that made the brand famous, as well as some of the most-loved configurations of classic models. The collection blends the modern with the classic, featuring today’s patented Taylor NT neck, traditional X-bracing and a straight-ear peghead shape that hearkens back to the company’s Lemon Grove days. Each features an onboard LR Baggs Element pickup system for superior plugged-in tone. Not just slavish recreations, these guitars have been designed with a 'Greatest Hits' approach, befitting Taylor's reputation for innovation and forward-thinking.

A Tribute to Excellence

The Legacy Collection features five distinct acoustic models, each inspired by the foundational principles of Taylor guitar-making. Among these, three models—the Legacy 810e, Legacy 815e, and the 12-string Legacy 855e—are reimagined versions of the iconic 800 Series, harkening back to Bob Taylor's earliest creations. These models are crafted from premium Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce, offering a classic and versatile blend of depth and clarity. Also featured are two classic Cedar-topped Grand Auditorium models, much missed by Taylor enthusiasts - the rich and deep Cedar and Indian Rosewood Legacy 714ce, and the warm and woody Cedar and Mahogany Legacy 514ce.

Meet the Models

Legacy 810e: A traditional square-shouldered Dreadnought guitar that channels the spirit of Taylor's heritage, the 810e features a solid Indian rosewood back and sides with a Sitka spruce top. With its room-filling volume and traditional X-bracing, this guitar embodies both the classic and the contemporary. Its elegant aesthetic includes a three-ring rosette in green abalone and mother-of-pearl fretboard inlays.

Legacy 815e: The bigger brother of the 810e, the Jumbo 815e adds increased volume, bass response and sustain to the classic Spruce and Rosewood tone . The guitar's craftsmanship is evident in its understated elegance and exceptional sound, and it's beautiful moustache bridge hearkens back to Taylor's earliest days.

Legacy 855e: This 12-string model combines the complexity of twelve strings with Taylor's innovative design, providing rich harmonic overtones and a bright, clear tone that stands out in any mix. Famously used by Neil Young, it's one of the most iconic Taylor models of all time, and it has been greatly missed.

Legacy 514ce: Highlighting Bob Taylor’s signature Grand Auditorium body style, the 514ce is crafted with solid cedar on top, mahogany back-and-sides and a sleek design that appeals to both traditional and modern players. Revered as a superb fingerstyle instrument, it's warmth, clarity and midrange presence has made it a secret weapon in many recording studios.

Legacy 714ce: Another classic and much-missed Grand Auditorium design, the Legacy 714ce blends a cedar top with Indian rosewood back-and-sides, for a versatile and rich tone with a smooth midrange and incredible balance.
